In 1912, Japan gifted Washington, DC the city's iconic cherry blossom trees that are rooted along the Tidal Basin. Every year, thousands of visitors from around the world visit the Tidal Basin to capture a glimpse of these iconic trees. The flowers bloom together in a magical and fleeting way, where 70% of the Yoshino cherry trees reach peak, lasting only for a few days.
